Trip to Leh

There were supposed to be people in the a small village , a village parched precariously on top of a mountain , The snow had covered the most part of the land at this time of the winter and there was not a soul visible in the village when i arrived there.
The huge dogs were tied down outside some of the houses and the cold wind was taking the toll on the dogs, somehow the dogs did not like the cold wind even though they are well adapted to the environment and the weather.
The Trail that bought me here to this remote village was one of the toughest i had ever been on foot. The Trail Cris-crossed small streams , deep forests , woodland and then the ever lasting patch of grey dusty land without a glimpse anything through out the horizon.
There was no trees for the shelter and the constant blowing of the wind had taken a heavy toll on my body as well . Then out of the blue i saw this village on the top of the mountain . It was like finding a oasis in the middle of the desert after walking for days in the hot sun . I sat down and started to collect my thoughts and asked questions to myself am i hallucinating or is this village a imagination of my mind , The Fatigue , stress and the lack of oxygen in these altitudes can make the human brain to work in a totally different way where one is not sure of what is real and what is imaginative.
Slowly i was sinking into the thoughts and was falling asleep and suddenly i was awakened by a distant howling of the wolfs and came to my senses . When i looked up and gazed across i could still see the village and i became sure that i have in fact stumbled upon a village in the middle of nowhere . But to reach that i had to climb a huge mountain and the little bit of sunshine that was left was fast fading and soon it will be dark and cold and spending the night in this cold unforgiven place without the fire would be suicidal .

As soon as these thoughts came to my mind , I got up and started searching for the bits and pieces of wood , But wood at these altitudes are hard to find . I realized that only way i can lit a fire at this place without the wood is to find some Yak Dung so i started searching frantically all over the place and could collect a hand full of these . Then i found the trunk of a tree fallen in the pit , i gathered myself and went in to that pit and got the wood that was much needed to survive in this place. I was exhausted by this time and my body and mind was crying for rest , water , food and warmth of the fire .

Soon i made my self a fire, The Radiant color of fire was such a joy after all the exhaustion and this relieved my mind for a moment and my thoughts were cleared . I opened the back pack and got a mug, a pack of noodles and some red meat. Kept the mug on the fire and poured some water in to it , As the water was getting boiled, i opened the pack of noodles and put that in the hot water . I got the chunk of red meat and started cutting into small pieces with the knife . I put all the pieces of meat into the mug and let it boil. After couple of minutes I got the mug and for the first time in the day felt relived seeing the food . I soon started gulping down all the things and almost choked. As all the food went into my body i was re-energized and those thoughts started coming back again .

As I settled down in my sleeping bag and started gazing into the sky , I realized that the sun had already faded and there was nothing but the total darkness. In the distance on top of the mountain i could see the glimpse of a lamps from a house. That was my challenge for the next day to reach that village and to feel like human again. That's all i wanted at this point . I had been alone for so long now that i had forgotten how to greet a another human being , It is as if i am from a different planet and on a visit to earth. Soon i was falling asleep and i could not care for anything at this point of time.

A huge knocking sound woke me up violently. I was startled and got up and saw that i am sleeping on my bed in my home . How could this happen i was in the mountain were i had eaten half baked red meat and slept on the patch of land. It was a Dream and what a dream it was . It was so real i still could not believe that it was dream , But the Reality was i was on the bed in my home and my mom was knocking on the door so that i wake up . This was the dream that all started my trip to Leh . I was hooked on to the openness , the barren land , the bone chilling cold and that sense of being nowhere . There was only one thing that was running on my mind that as soon as possible i should visit the Leh. The Date in the watch was Apr 2.

Finally i get the chance to re-visit this and see where it has stopped. Anyway i will be not writing about this as i will be going to shimla , manali again on september 25th but this time on bikes. So after that i shall update the blog and post some snaps too :)

Another Weekend Passes by

Another dull and gloomy day of the weather here has kept most of folks in the house for the weekend . Not many people were around outside when we went around to enjoy the dull and lazy weather. But there are lot of things happening in the TV that sure can keep anyone inside the home . The F1 race is somehow loosing interest for me at least as Kimmi is not able give a good fight to others , As far as the Cricket is concerned the T20 World Cup has kick started with a bang ,what a cracker of a match we had where the minnows Netherlands beat the England at their opening game of the tournament , This has put the points table into disarray. On the other hand the mighty Australia was conquered by the Gayle Storm that no one could have stopped. What a display of power hitting that was by Gayle , It is clearly visible why he does not like the Test Cricket. Oh at last how can anyone forget the French Open where the Fed Express again wins one more Grand Slam but a very important one from his personal point of view . The French open was the one Grand Slam he was not able to win from many years but finally the last frontier is also conquered. what a great achievement now he equals Pete Sampras for the Highest No of Grand Slams that are won.

Not So Great Weekend

Wow ! this was the felling that all the Bangalore folks experienced it when the Royal Challengers beat the hot favorites Super Kings Chennai in the semi- finals . The Story of the Royals in the IPL have been one of the great comeback in any big tournament. Under Such immense pressure from the owners and the followers the pressure would have been a little too much to take for the 11 Players on the field, But call it a miracle or the good old fashioned cricket that they played prior to reaching the semi's , The confidence in the team had reached a peak. But when i am writing this the diamond and ruby studded IPL trophy has slipped from the royals and have gone to Deccans . After beating the Super Kings in the semi's everyone in Bangalore thought that they would go all the way and win the IPL . The Sunday was the final that would decide the IPL champion for the 2009 and what a cracker of a game we had . The Super Sunday started with a Master Stroke from the 38 year old captain for the royals, as he knocked the stumps of gilly in the 3rd bowl of the 1st over , the People in Bangalore were jubilant and over the moon . I must say that royals did play well and restricted the Deccans for a modest total within 150 , which in T20 match is a very easy score to chase down .

So through the half way mark all the people who were watching the match thought for sure that the royals are gone be the IPL champions, Even the Deccan players also thought the same i guess, but what happened during the next 2 hours is that amazing pressure bought on by the deccans on the royals , before the Start of the match the way Gilly communicated with their players were so intense that one could have felt that there is something that is gone happen for sure and the deccans wont be a just a push - over even if there were all the stats stacked against them.

What happened next was something many bangaloreans never thought it will happen. Under the pressure mounted by the deccans the royals just folded like a pack of card and lost the game and with that the title too . what a disappointment that was for all the fans including myself to see the game which was in our hand and at the last moment lost it to silly cricket that was played .

The Days of My Travel

So I was thinking from yesterday what to write in the blog today and finally i thought writing about my travel days even though it might not be an interesting thing, but still what the heck ! i am the one who is writing about my self and my travel .

Traveling is my passion and given the chance i am ready to travel around the world without a penny . But that is never gone be possible so i have to think of some ways to travel around and see the places. From past couple of years i have been to many places some of them good and some not so good . It can never be bad because travelling is the one thing that i can do at any time , with a friend or a stranger . So i keep on asking my self what i really like about the travelling so much .

The Traveling brings the best in me where i feel one with the reality , the amazing sites and sounds of the places that I or we visit brings a joy unmatched to anything in life. Discovering the way the other people live life normaly , to see the tradition , culture, food and the history behind a place is really something that is worth knowing about.
Even a small village in a remotest place can hold some secret about its past that it might surprise u after knowing about it . There is a place where i had been to recently and the ride to this place was across a barren land in a bus siting beside a stranger. when i reached this village i soon became the talk of the village since there were no visitors to this place for a long time at least a urban guy like me . So i had become a instant celebrity in this place .People where rather curious to know why i came here and what made come to this place.
As i got along with all the villagers they were fascinated (rather they thought i am stupid) to travel all the way and come to this barren land in the middle of no where . They wanted to know what makes me bring to this place . As i told them that i am just visiting this place because i just wanted to travel they could not believe it . They all thought i should be having a some kind of motive to come here. So this uncertainty and that first awkward moments where you are getting to know the people is what makes the traveling worthwhile.

It helps to see the real places where so much good things are there and there is also so many bad things . Also there is always a chance of meeting other fellow travellers. It is this uncertinity and meeting new people and on top of seeing the place itself is enough for most of the people to cherish the travelling and i am one of them. I shall be writing about my travel to leh and other place which i enjoyed the most.

The Day goes on

The Afternoon shower has brought some respite from the scorching heat that had its spell all over the city "Bengaluru". But the moment the rain arrives in the so called Garden city , the credibility of that which many people will question having own share of good and bad . Its like the old western classic movie the good , bad and ugly. I am talking in perspective of only the Movie Name and not the actual story or the plot of the movie. Coming back to the rain in the our city some people rejoice the arrival of monsoon to their beloved city . Whenever there is a rain the city clogs itself , traffic stops , people fight , all the dirty drains gets overflowed with so many filthy stuff that even the dogs will not go near. One thing to mention during the rain is the Road Rage , as the people want to reach home early so that they can bundle up , have a cup of tea and watch IPL people forget about everything . The sole aim is to reach home and be safe from falling trees, drunk drivers , bad odour and not to forget the mud filled coffee colored dirty water under their feet. I can write about the Road Rage whole day and not get bored at all . May be i will write it one day whenever i get the time. So the Day is already coming to the end and the rain has stopped . Now only thing to do as said above is to go and watch the IPL match between the our own team which has a chance to be in semi-finals if they really play well and beat the Delhi DareDevils. Oh by the way before i can do that i need to go through the cloaged roads of the capitial city which by the way is looseing its charm as the garden city day by day .

The First Blog

Another day starts with the usual shouting of my neighbor wife , i have become so used to the shouting in the early morning that , now i have treated it as my wake-up call for the morning. As i slowly get myself ready for another day of work , so many thoughts are running through my head for some of which i don't have the answer at all , what am i here for ? Is this is what i want do in life sitting behind the desk and gaze through it all , Is this is what i really am . I am not sure of the answer but the answers i have for these questions within my head may seem unreal for the outside world . The world that is going through the roller coaster rider in its only infant age . The Reality is harsh but the human race has to survive and see yet another day .
